The Final Day of our Fall 2018 Conference | A Week in Review
It’s one of our favorite weeks of the year for our blog! Every year when we do our Conference Recap week, it always is a favorite for everyone. We are continuing today with Day Three for our 2018 Fall Conference Review today, with a new post shared each day.
If you want to start at the beginning, here is Day One, Day Two, and Day Three!
Today marks the final day for our 2018 Conference Week in Review, and oh my goodness, what a week it has been! Sharing the details of what took place each and every day has been one that we have loved, and we hope you have enjoyed it as well!
Our final day at the Conference is always a good one. We spend the day doing only three things: making a plan for what you’re going to do first when you get home so that you can build upon what you learned while you were here, take a few pictures together, and having dedicated one-on-one time with each of our speakers. Keep reading below for all of the details surrounding Day 4 of our Conference!
The day began with everyone getting together to take a group photo, with the beautiful waves behind us. Also, from now on we’ll have a fun addition to our shirts! Those who were attending our conference for the first time received a steel gray shirt, with those returning once more receiving one in a blue hue. If they return once more, it’ll be berry! Looking at this photo and seeing how many were returning attendees is so heartwarming to see, and when you combine everyone together, it was such an incredible group of women who joined us this year!!
Each attendee also had the opportunity to take a new headshot with Ashley Victoria …. they all turned out amazing!
After a laid back beginning to our morning, we dove right into all things planning, led by Kristin Wilson. We highlighted specific details that we had learned about each day previously, including making a plan for what the attendees wanted to do first when they returned home.
We worked through things both individually and together as a group, so that people could hone in on their own needs and receive feedback from the fellow creative entrepreneurs around them as well. This day is always such a sweet one, knowing that our time together is coming to a close, but it’s also one of the most beneficial because we work on things together to give you a head start on working on what matters most to you from your time spent here, rather than needing to figure it all out on your own once you get home.
Additionally, each day, we also had an encouragement wall. This is something we do every year and it’s always a fun nod to our love of snail mail. There are notes included each morning from previous alums, along with notes that were written by current attendees to one another each day as well.
Our Conference has a “soft closing” after lunch that day, and our attendees are able to stay as long as they would like that day before heading home. This is always a bittersweet day, because the group becomes smaller and smaller after lunch comes to an end. That afternoon, each of the attendees are also able to choose to stay longer and have one-on-one sessions with our speakers, to chat together on items specific to their business needs and work with someone who could help them through things they were currently working through in their own season of business.
And after that, my friends, our Conference comes to an official close. With one more glance at the emerald waters on the gulf along with one more note of encouragement as we all head home, our hearts and minds are filled with so many emotions. From renewed confidence and new friendships that have grown, to a heart filled with peace with a written out plan for where you want to go next in your business, and a notebook filled with information with everything you’ve learned, it’s always such an incredible experience for everyone overall.
I can’t think of any better way to sum up our Conference overall than these words from our Fall Attendee Tyler Bedwell, owner of Studio B Print Shop.
"I was at a stalemate in my business prior to the conference. There were paths of uncertainty before me that were neither bad nor were they great. I could continue on the way I was going and selling product because I could, but lacking the joy in that, or try something a little different and go down a path that might be scary and unknown, but that may open opportunities for growth and loving my business again. I wanted to attend the conference to find the joy I lost in the work I do by getting fresh perspectives from other creative professionals and feeling inspired again.
The Creative Founder's Conference surpassed anything I could've imagined. Not only did I leave feeling inspired and ready to hit the (creative) road running, but have made friendships and connections with other women makers that I didn't think was possible in such a short period of time. The positivity and encouragement from each individual attendee was mind-blowing – especially when we live in such a broken world and see so much negativity and hate all the time. It was a lovely change of pace and I highly recommend others who are seeking this type of experience to leap and go – you won't regret it!"

On a personal note, as the Conference Organizer, I (Kristin) can not express enough how much creating this experience every year for each of our attendees means to me. Although we first started as the original creative conference in 2011 as Stationery Academy, seeing how businesses have grown and changed since we began, our Conference has also adapted and changed to meet people’s specific needs, for their specific season of their business and in their lives.
Seeing the transformations, the aha moments, the pure joy that people have when they are here makes this Conference Experience such a loved part of the Society for Creative Founders, and is what everything we do is based upon.
No matter where you are in your business, we’re here to help you with the tools and support you need to grow your business like a creative founder while building friendships with women who are right there with you, all along the way. This incredible community is made up of so many women — dreamers, designers, makers, thinkers, artists, creatives, and each person working both individually and together makes it what it is.
If we haven’t met yet, I truly hope we will be able to in the future. And if you’re one of our Conference Alumni, the door will always be open for you to return once more. Thank you so much for joining us this week as we shared all of the details that encompassed our Conference this last Fall. We hope you enjoyed our Fall 2018 Conference Week in Review! ❤️
If you would like to join us this November for our 2019 Conference Experience, we would love for you to! Registration officially opens one week from today on Thursday, March 7th.
Our Conference this fall is going to be a little bit smaller this year than it has been in years past, as we've made a few changes to make it even better based on what our attendees have shared with us. So even if you've joined us before, this experience won't be the same. You’ll be in for an even better experience with time spent here.
All of the 2019 Conference Details will be shared the week of March 4th, so for now, learn all of the available details for this year’s upcoming Conference Experience here!
