Spring Creative Founders Conference, Day 3 Recap!
I can't believe it, but we are on our Day 3 of our 2018 Spring Creative Founders Conference Recap! This is one of my favorite days every year we have our Conference, because it's the day we have the most aha moments - the day that we take everything that has been learned in the last few days and combine it all together to make a plan moving forward, the day that we celebrate all of the hard work that has been done and get ready for what happens next ... the hard work of being a business owner is never complete, but this day is one that sets up everyone so well for the days that follow after they return home.
If you want to start from the beginning, Day Two is located here, Day One is here!
We started the day with Chic-fil-A and that alone made everyone excited for the day. It is amazing what the most delectable chicken minis, fresh fruit, and orange juice can do to begin the day. The pure joy that was in the room was contagious!
After breakfast, our final full day began. This day was our "you've got this" kind of a day, and the items provided by previous Conference Alumni for each of our attendees were so well loved. When they walked in the room, attendees received a mug provided by Carla of Make Her Social, a Never Give up Print by Kaitlin of Athena Street Creative, a Pensacola print by Amy Braswell of PaperFinch Design, and a Dream Big Hustle Smart print by Kristen Ley of Thimblepress.
We also had custom cookies that were created by one of our Spring Conference Attendees, Allison of The Cookie Fairy! They were SO perfectly made and the perfect sweet treat to nibble on throughout the morning sessions.
After getting settled in, we started right in to our morning sessions, led by Amber Housley and Maghon Taylor of All She Wrote Notes.
Amber Housley first had her session on Your Marketing, and we went over many necessary details when it comes to marketing your business. Each one of our attendees spent time learning about and doing a SWOT Analysis, identifying product solutions, spent time content brainstorming, and creating marketing plans. This followed by a *new* addition we have never had, a full presentation by Maghon Taylor of All She Wrote Notes about Your Presence, with strategic ways to connect with others in your business, whether it was in-person or online. We talked about different ways you can discover ways to make your business presence stronger, through live events, appearances, and online opportunities for connection. Overall, the morning started great!
After the morning sessions, we took a short break for lunch, and then started the afternoon with two breakout sessions. Tiffany taught a session on Styling for Social Media and Amber led a breakout session on creating a sales funnel and launch plan.
Following the breakout sessions, we walked back into the ain room, which had once more been set with items for our attendees to use during our final session, the Your Plan session. We were so grateful to Conference Alum Ashley Shelly for both 2018 Planners and Notebook Besties for each of the attendees, and to Kaitlin of Athena Street Creative for personalized monogrammed notecards as well. We also had mini gift boxes with each of the attendees business cards inside of them, so that they could always have a place to house those from their class together in one spot.
We also had prints by Erin is Creative. Co (one of our Fall speakers!) which said "I love the person I've become, because I fought to become her". These were used for the attendees to write a note to themselves that I then mailed a few months after the Conference took place, to remind them of the good things they processed while they were here.
Then started our final session, the Your Plan Session. This one was led by Kristin Wilson, (the person writing this post!) and was the final piece to the puzzle to set everyone up for success once they left for home the following day. We covered planning truths, reviewing our business, both with where it was and where we wanted it to be, and doing vision exercises, both for life and business - because overall, they both play a hand in each other and need to be thought of as such. We then talked about smart goal setting and items we wanted to do in the days, months, and years ahead. Overall, the day was one that was filled with information for everyone.
And then, after a few hours to decompress and change into "girls night out" attire, our graduation dinner began. This is my favorite "event" of our Conference, because we take the main room we were working in and flip it for the attendees, into one large table where we all can sit and share with each other. We share thoughts and dreams, hopes and inspiration for the future, and everyone goes around the table to celebrate things that they are looking forward to in the future. Honestly, this time is a bit emotional as well, because the transformation that takes place for every single one of our attendees who puts in the work while they are here is a strong one.
We are so grateful to Conference Alums Anna of St. Blanc Creative and Kelly of Hello World Paper Co. Anna handlettered the quite "what if I fall? Oh but my darling, what if you fly?" onto a tea towel that each recipient received (printed by Printed Mint) and Kelly provided the laser wood cut-outs from the manufacturing that Hello World Paper Co. provides. They helped to make the room even more inviting and were the perfect finishing touches.
At the end of the evening after dinner, everyone changed into their comfy clothes once more, sat on the couches at the Lee House until the wee hours of the night, and simply had fun together. We also had "I Will" and "I Quit" posters hanging that everyone who wanted to, could choose to either begin or stop something, depending on their needs.
On Wednesday morning, before heading home, everyone had the opportunity to sign up for one-on-one sessions with the speakers, where they could receive 45 minutes of one-on-one coaching with each of them to go over specific topics that they needed for their own businesses. We Discussions took place on everything from taxes to blog posts, praying for one another to website creation and creating marketing plans.
We also had some time built in for quiet planning before heading home or taking just one more photo together with friends before heading home. This day is always bittersweet for everyone, and the phrases like "I hope our paths cross again" are ones that are commonly spoken.
And that, my friends, is our Spring 2018 Creative Founders Conference Recap. Iope you have enjoyed it as much as I loved putting it together for you, and have loved this walk down memory lane.
If you are one of our alumni from this Spring, or are interested in attending our Conference in the future, the words that I wrote in this post at the conclusion of our Conference this year still ring true.
I fully believe that transformations can take place at our Conference in the best possible way, whether you've been in business for five minutes or five years. That it can help you get from stuck to streamlined, with inspiration, excitement, and a world full of possibilities that you perhaps never even knew were there.
If you have been looking through all of these photos from the recap we've shared about these three days and are feeling a tug to invest in yourself and invest in this experience, we would love to have you join us this Fall!
