2019 Conference | Speakers + Sessions!


We are SO beyond excited to announce that registration is NOW OPEN for our Fall 2019 Conference!

Every year, we bring 24 women together who are artists, makers, and designers in the creative industry for our Conference Experience in a beautiful home on Pensacola Beach, Florida, steps away from the Gulf of Mexico.

This is the signature event we have become known for since our beginning in 2011 as Stationery Academy, and every year the transformations and renewed confidence that occurs in the women who join us during this four day, all inclusive workshop experience are incredible to see take place.

We’ve developed each day with intention to help you gain the clarity and confidence you need to bring your business to the next level, while time to focus in on what matters most built in to each day as well.

Today, we wanted to share a bit more with you about all of our Conference Speakers, to learn more about them individually along with the sessions they’ll be leading this November. Enjoy! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀


Erin Kendrick of Erin is Creative . Co - 2019 Creative Founders Conference Speaker

Erin Kendrick of Erin is Creative.Co joined us last fall as a speaker and she will be returning once more to lead her signature session for Your Core, titled "Finding Your Voice as a Maker, Artist, or Designer". Here is a little bit more about Erin!

"I am a visual artist and arts educator from Jacksonville, Florida. I create original artwork and I teach art to all age levels (kids to college). I've always been artist from an early age so working in a creative field has always come naturally to me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I've become known for creating thoughtful artwork that helps people from different backgrounds have open and honest conversations about difficult issues like race, gender, and social matters. My goal is to encourage empathy so that we all can take better care of one another.

I had a fast and furious journey back into the world of visual art and since then I've experienced nothing but positivity. I currently work as an Adjunct Professor at the University of North Florida and Creative Leader at Jacksonville Art & Music School (JAMS), and I create as much as possible between teaching.”


Our second session will be entirely focused on Your Client, and Chloe Minyon of English Tea Paperie will be leading it in a session titled “Who is your Client, REALLY??”

Here is a little bit more about Chloe:

"I'm best known for creating wonderfully magical wedding papers and art. I blend the delicate world of watercolor with the techniques of acrylic painting and architectural line drawings.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Being an entrepreneur is in my blood. I come from a long line of small business owners, all in creative fields. For 11 years, I've had the honor of sharing my artwork through pretty wedding invitations and papers.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When a bride tells me that she wasn't excited about wedding planning before meeting me, or that seeing our design come to life in paper is her favorite thing about the whole wedding, or even better, when a bride says she felt like she was designing her invitations with a friend - those things make me feel like I am living out my life purpose.

I get incredible joy out of seeing others happy. If my art can be a small part of that happiness, I'm content."


In addition, we will also have Melissa Camilleri of Compliment, Inc. join us this year to teach the Your Marketing Session! Melissa’s session is titled “Getting in front of the right people and spreading your good in the world.”

Here is a little bit about Melissa: “My journey to entrepreneurship was not one that I planned. My business found me. In fact, I see my business as a total walk of faith from the very beginning. Sometimes God has plans for our lives that we didn't see coming and our job is to be brave and listen to the call. This has been my experience with Compliment and I think, in large part, why it's been a successful venture.

What I love most about being an entrepreneur is that it challenges me to stretch and grow beyond what I ever think is possible. It has required me to lean even more deeply into my faith. I love that it's allowed me to met and connect with so many other amazing human beings all around the world. And most of all, that it's given me the freedom to create a schedule and a lifestyle that serves my family and who I want to be as a mother.”


Janet LeBlanc will also be returning as our Your Money Speaker for this year, in a session titled “Getting to Know your Money”. Janet is the owner of Paper + Spark, and we are thrilled she’s returning once more!

“Since I started selling jewelry on Etsy way back in 2011, my own entrepreneurial journey has connected me with hundreds of other creatives struggling to get their shops off the ground. As an accountant, I started sharing my knowledge about small biz taxes and finances with other shop owners. I quickly became passionate about educating my fellow sellers.

Confusion about money should NEVER be what keeps your business from taking off! I firmly believe that every creative entrepreneur is capable of getting confident about their business finances, and we can create that confidence through knowledge. Truly understanding your financial responsibilities as a biz owner and getting to know your numbers will make you feel SO empowered."


Kristin Wilson of the Society for Creative Founders - 2019 Creative Founders Conference Speaker

Leading both the Your Brand and Your Plan Sessions will be Kristin, the owner of the Society for Creative Founders. First, Kristin will be leading a Branding session titled "Bringing your Brand to life, *way* beyond your Logo."

In addition, Kristin will be closing out our Conference on the last day with our Planning Session. Our hope is that in this session, you will learn how to plan for your business from a place of calm and rest, not hustle and stress. We've developed this in a way where you know what to do to help *your* business to grow well, while being surrounded by a community who will cheer you on every step of the way.

A bit more about Kristin …

”I began with a career as an elementary school teacher, starting my entrepreneurial journey as a wedding planner as a “side hustle” in 2010.  A month after my daughter was born in 2012, I took my business full-time so that I could be at home raising her while building a business I absolutely loved. Falling in love with all things stationery design soon after, I founded a wedding stationery business specializing in the art of letterpress, while running a successful Etsy shop at the same time.

Being the owner of the Society for Creative Founders is something that I love. I fully believe that no matter where you begin, we’re here to help you with the tools and support you need to grow your business like a creative founder while building friendships with women who are right there with you, all along the way.”


In addition to our speakers for this year, we will also have Emily Ley joining us as a special guest! She surprised our Attendees one evening last fall, and I am thrilled that she’ll be joining us this Fall once more for a special Q+A session.

Emily Ley is the founder of Simplified®, which is a brand of planners and organizational tools for busy women. Emily has been featured in Forbes, Family Circle, Better Homes and Gardens, Glamour, and Good Housekeeping. She has been recognized with numerous awards, including Best New Product at the National Stationery Show as well as Top 10 Designers to Watch by Stationery Trends Magazine.

Emily and her team recently collaborated with AT-A-GLANCE® to create gift and planning collections carried in Office Depot, Staples, and Target. Emily is the author of national bestselling books, Grace, Not perfection: Embracing Simplicity, Celebrating Joy and A Simplified Life: Tactical Tools for Intentional Living.


Now as an author, entrepreneur, wife and mother to three, Emily lives in Pensacola, Florida with her husband, Bryan, and their son Brady, and twins Tyler and Caroline. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀


In years past, we’ve had breakout sessions in addition to our regular sessions, but so many times, our attendees told us that they went home with so much information, but wish that they had more time to process what they were learning and talk with the speakers, along with thinking through what to implement for their own businesses.

We don’t want to just fill you with so much information that you go home overwhelmed. In fact, we want it to be the opposite of that entirely.

So this year, we’ll have small groups each day to further expand upon each session and give you the opportunity to focus and work through the things you have learned, with more quality time with each of our speakers as well. By doing this, you’ll be able to go home with even more of a plan, rather than needing to figure it all out on your own without more of an established community by your side.

And we couldn’t be more excited for the way it will all come together for those four days at the beach. The only question remaining now, is will you be one of the 16 women who joins us?
