The 2017 Creative Founders Conference, Day 1 Recap!
A look back at our 2017 Creative Founders Conference...
In early March of 2017, 20 women walked through the doors of the Lee House for our 2017 Creative Founders Conference. They were excited, nervous, and walked in knowing that so many things for their business were about to change. The next four days that transpired were some of the most memorable for the year, and it has been incredible to see them grow in so many different ways.
Below is our Day One Recap of our 2017 Conference. Day 2 is here and Day 3 is here if you want to see all three days. If you were an attendee, we hope you enjoy this walk down memory lane today, and if you're interested in joining us for our next Conference, register here.
Sunday, Day One begins below. Enjoy!
The Lee House was abuzz with excited chatter. Outside of the main room, the attendees were waiting to come in, getting to know their fellow attendees, and introducing themselves to each other. We kept the main doors closed for a while as Jennifer poured champagne for the speakers and we did a little “lets do this!” bit of a toast. At the beginning of every conference, I love that we do this as it helps all of the speakers recenter and focus on what we are truly there for - it is not about us at all, but all in pouring ourselves into the attendees that join us. This tradition among the speakers, in the calm quiet before everything begins, is one of my absolute favorites.
Jennifer did one final check to make sure everything was ready to go, and then we opened the doors. When they opened, each of the 20 attendees walked in, their eyes ablaze with excitement, some nervous, some quiet, some boisterous, but the overall energy in the room was pretty incredible.
After getting settled in, Jennifer welcomed everybody in, and we all stood up in a circle, going around the room and introducing ourselves, sharing what we did, where we were from, and overall what we were most excited and hopeful for. Then, Kristin started in with our first Module, Your Core.During the Your Core Session, Kristin Wilson started us off, first with a session on writing down all the things that we were currently doing. From there, we talked about the gifts we each have, narrowing down the lists from all the things to what we truly know in our hearts we were put here to do. It was amazing to see how people realized in this session that a lot of times, we were pulled away from our why, and more into “I’m doing this just because I can”. This session is probably one of the most moving as well, as it fully brings our personal emotions into it. Diving deep into this session at the very beginning also opening everyone up in the room.
After a short break, we continued with the Your Client Session. Jennifer talked in depth about teaching us how to identify our clients, incorporating the Psychology of your Ideal Client, developing idea client profiles, incorporating their demographics, psychographics, pain points, passions, problems to identify your ideal client. From there, we built upon that ideal client to determine the markets to work with with and how to craft our messaging for our audience, so that it would speak directly to our client as well.
After these two content packed modules, we were all ready to relax and have some fun! We shared a bit about our sponsors, about the alums who would be gifting our attendees with purposeful gifts throughout the days ahead, and got settled in for the evening. We had a casual dinner inside the Lee House, complete with appetizers, mojitos, desserts galore, and of course, a delectable salad bar and handmade pizza.
The incredibly talented Alex of Prairie Letter Shop, one of our 2016 Attendees, created the signage for Dinner. It was all so beautifully done!
After dinner, everyone switched into their comfy clothes and we closed Day One with our evening sessions. Kristin chatted about creating a schedule that would help to learn how to balance motherhood and being a business owner, and Olivia shared about monetizing your business. Overall, it was a very full first day, but one filled with so much knowledge. We went to sleep with happy hearts, a lot of new information, and wonderings about what Day 2 would hold.
Tomorrow, we'll be continuing the 2017 Creative Founders Conference Recap! If you know this is the conference for you, we would love for you to register to join us for our next Conference here.
And, a tremendous thank you has to be included here for our local Pensacola vendors: the team at Aislinn Kate Photography for capturing all of the images shown for the duration of the conference, Fiore of Pensacola for providing the flowers for our conference, and Nancy's Haute Affairs for catering.
